IAUE disowns Endurance Joseph, says no strike action

A recent announcement credited to Mr. Endurance Joseph, alleging that academic and other activities at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education are on hold due to an ongoing strike action, has been described as false and misleading.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Institution, Dr. Ngozi Okiridu, and made available to Africa Update reads: Office of the Vice Chancellor, Public Relations Unit, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, Refuttal :

The attention of the Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni (IAUE) has been drawn to the purported announcement credited to one Mr. Endurance Joseph that the University is on strike.The Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni is therefore calling all Staff, Students and the general public to disregard the said announcement as it is not true.

Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni has never in the history of the institution gone on strike and they are also not on strike and do not have any intention whatsoever of going on strike.For the purposes of emphasis, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni is not on strike and lectures are currently going on.

There is also no ASUU executive for now as the tenure of the so called chairman has since expired. Their election has been placed on hold by court order.Members of the public are therefore advised to disregard any announcement from Mr. Endurance Joseph or his cohorts on Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni being on strike.Staff and Students of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni are therefore encouraged to continue their lectures.
