The Rivers State Police Command has dismissed allegations by the Governor of the State, Nyesom Wike, that the F-SARS commander, Akin Fakorede, has been indicted of electoral offences.
A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Nnamdi Omoni, said there is no evidence to show that Fakorede assaulted INEC officials during the 2016 rerun election as alleged by the Governor.
The Police also said sponsored advertorials accusing Fakorede are false and unfounded. Debunking insinuations that Fakorede was indicted by any panel, the police command warned Gov. Wike to stop further publications against Fakorede and respect his rights.
