Alleged kidnap attempt on Teni: Eyewitnesses account, shocking Video

There is a buzz online about an alleged kidnap attempt on popular Nigerian singer Teniola Apata, known with the stage name Teni. Africa Update gathered from multiple sources that Teni was whisked away from the stage by her personal security men, when sporadic gunshots suddenly broke while Teni was performing yesterday at King Amachree Sqaure in Buguma city, the headquarters of Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

In a video that has gone viral, Teni had abruptly ended her performance amidst cheers from the crowd, when gunshots were heard around the vicinity.

Meanwhile, some notable personalities from Buguma who spoke with Africa Update, disclosed that contrary to widespread rumours of a botched kidnap attempt on Teni, some miscreants had some disagreement that led to the shooting by Security men attached to Teni.

They said, the miscreants had engaged in a free for all fight which led to breaking of beer bottles. Another eyewitness claimed that some cult boys had an argument which led to the shooting.

Africa Update further gathered that Teni was invited to Buguma City to perform at an event organised by the Kalabari National College, KNC, when the incident occured.

Though it is difficult to ascertain what truly happened in Buguma City, one thing is however certain, which is the safety of Teni, who has left Buguma for her base. Below is the video clip that has gone viral: https://youtu.be/MsqS4j49Pv0
