Nollywood superstar actress, Genevieve Nnaji, is making waves in the movie and film industry following the Oscar nomination of her film, Lionheart.
The Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC), had shortlisted Lionheart to represent the country in the International Feature Film category of the 2020 Oscars.
Announcing the decision on October 2, 2019, the group said, they arrived at their decision, following a statutory vetting and subsequent voting of entries received from Nigerian filmmakers at home and in the Diaspora.
Reacting to the selection of ‘Lionheart’ to represent Nigeria, Nnaji had written,
“The Nigerian Oscar Selection Committee has chosen #LionHeartthemovie to represent Nigeria for the 2020 Academy Award for Best International Film! We are grateful for this recognition and proud to carry the torch. Thank you all for the love and support thus far.”
