Owners of public buildings in Rivers State operating without the Public Building Liability Insurance may soon face prosecution by the National Insurance Commission

This is according to a disclosure made by the Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM),Sunday Thomas at an enlightenment workshop on Compulsory Insurance.

Represented by the Head of Corporate Communications and Market Development, Rasak Salami, the CEO explained that the Commission is working with security operatives and the Rivers state government to shut down public buildings without the Public Building Liability Insurance.
The NAICOM Boss said the enforcement of the policy is not a witch hunt but for the good of the people in securing their property.

He said the policy when enforced will also generate more revenues to the state and create jobs for the unemployed.
