Sequel to the dwindling reading culture amongst youths in Rivers State and the increasing levels of violence associated with drug abuse, cultism and other peer group influences, the life Patroness of the Rivers State Secondary Schools’ Press Club, Amb. Gloria Boma Harry, has unveiled plans to embark on a tour of secondary schools in the state.
Speaking at the grand finale of the press week at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ centre, Moscow Road, Harry, irked by this trend, said it is critical for past members of press club to ensure that the number of schools with press club increases in a bid to curb social vices, currently on the increase.
