NDDC embarks on project inspection

Following its promises on the development of the Niger Delta region, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has embarked on project inspections in Obio/Akpor and Ikwerre Local Government Areas. 
Acting Managing Director Professor Nelson Brambaifa while touring round Ikwerre and Obio/Akpor expressed satisfaction at the level of work done, stressing that it is standard. 
He urged the people of the communities to support the commission and also thank President Buhari so that he will do more.
On his part, Acting Executive Director Finance Administration, Dr Chris Oyirinda said the projects are expected to be commissioned by the end of June, he added that for two and half years,the Ikwerre people have lived without electricity, but with this intervention,it will alleviate the sufferings of the people including transportation.
Meanwhile, Indigenes of the communities visited expressed joy and pleaded with the commission to provide water supply as it is one of the major challenges faced by them.
According to our reporter Tamunotonte Abiye, projects inspected includes a 3km road with drainage at Igbogo road, emergency road repairs at Ozuaha Ubima road, Isiokpo ringroad, restoration of electricity supply and a poultry farm for human capacity development.
