The serene atmosphere at Ubima community in Ikwerre Local Government area of Rivers State, was on Thursday 18th February, distorted when a man identified as Aleruchi Awuzuruike was reportedly hacked to death over a missing goat. Africa Update was reliably informed that the deceased had confronted Chibueze Ojiriome, who he suspected to have killed and eaten the missing goat which belongs to him ( the deceased).
An argument had ensued at the residence of Ojiriome, where the deceased had gone to seek answers concerning his missing goat. Ojiriome had allegedly attacked the deceased with a machete, which led to his death. The suspect was apprehended by OSPAC, a local vigilance group in the community and was later handed over to the Police Division in Ubima.
