The Rivers State Government has hinted that new taxes would be introduced in the State, to cushion the effects of the dwindling resource from the Federal Government.
Rivers State Governor,  Chief Nyesom. Wike  said ” Nigerians do not like to pay taxes, we have no choice. So many things are happening in the country, the oil price is down, so government have to look inwards to find a way that most of the infrastructure will have to be sustained.
“And so, very soon maybe they will knock on your doors, those of you who would like to file litigation, Â it is necessary to do so. But it is important to let you know that so many changes will be coming up if necessary, because we can’t continue .
With what is happening from the federal allocation, things are not well at all. So let everybody have it at the back of their minds that there will be a lot of changes that you may not like but it is necessary that we have to do it. ” he emphasized.
