Police kills kidnapper, rescue victim in Rivers State

The Rivers State Police Command says its anti kidnap  unit, led by Commander SP Edward Shadare, on Wednesday, killed a kidnapper and rescued his victim.

Africa update gathered that the victim, Mrs. Abigail Eseme Oroboh, was kidnapped from her residence on Friday April 6, and taken to a residential apartment at Rumuoduru, Port Harcourt, where she was kept in chains .

Our source said the police acted on intelligence report and played along with the kidnappers for the payment of N20million  ransom and tracked them to their residence.

The police had engaged them and in a return fire,  one of them was fatally wounded while two others escaped.

Items recovered from them include three locally made pistols,  masks, one constructed iron riffle, thirty rounds of live Ammunition, one black lexus 330 Jeep, their Operational vehicle which they have been using to perpetrate their criminal acts.

The lady has been released to her husband for medical attention. Meanwhile efforts have been intensified to arrest the fleeing hoodlums.
