Fani-Kayode’s trial Postponed to January 2017.

The Federal High Court in Lagos  on Wednesday picked January 16, 17 and 18 next year for continuation of trial of a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

The ex-minister is standing trial for money laundering.

Fani-Kayode, who was also a former Director of Media and Publicity in ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organisation, was arraigned alongside a former Minister of Finance, Nenandi Usman and one Danjuma Yusuf.

A company – Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited – was also arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

They were arraigned on a 17- count-charge of unlawful retention, unlawful use and unlawful payment of money in the tune of about N4.9 billion.

The accused persons  pleaded not guilty to the charges  and were granted bail by court.

The trial  earlier slated for December 12 was stalled because of the Eid-il- Maulud holiday.
