The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of 14 passengers who were kidnapped on Monday, August 28, at the Ndele-Rumuji axis of the East west road by gunmen.
Spokesman of the Command, Nnamdi Omoni, stated that “We have rescued them. It was not easy but we had to go all out. We engaged the people of the community who decided to offer information that helped us rescue the victims.

“All the Tactical Units were activated for this operation with the Commissioner of Police personnaly monitoring the progress.
“I can tell you that all the 14 victims were rescued alive,” he said.
