Unknown assailants have cut off the hand of an official of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and abducted another official at Igbo Etche , today during the rerun Legislative election in Rivers State .
Our source said the victim was rushed to the INEC headquarters in Port Harcourt drenched in his blood, while the whereabouts of his colleague is still unknown at the time of this report.
This attack is coming on the heels of the arrest of some Chieftains of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and about 62 thugs in Etche Local Government Area this afternoon during the rerun elections.
According to information made available to Africa Update, items recovered from the political thugs include machetes, knives, explosives and mortar.
