This incident was reported to have occurred along Olo town in Ezeagu local government area of the state on Wednesday, March 20.
Ogueche was said to be returning from a peace meeting between communities and the herdsmen terrorising parts of Uzo-Uwani local government area when the herdsmen allegedly ambushed his vehicle and shot him dead
He was said to be in the company of three others when the alleged herdsmen attacked their vehicle. According to the report, he jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the bush for safety along with the other occupants. However, the assailants allegedly pursued and shot him dead.
Chairman of Uzo-Uwani local government area, Fidelis Ani, who reportedly confirmed the killing said he was killed along Olo community road.
