Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike is set to appoint new commissioners, Africa Update learnt. This comes barely one week after the Governor dissolved the State Executive Council.
Governor Wike has sent three names to the Rivers State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation. The three names forwarded are: Dr Dax Alabo George-Kelly, who served as the Special Adviser on Project and Isaac Kamalu, who was the Commissioner of Finance. Incidentally, both men were gubernatorial aspirants in the just concluded PDP governorship primaries in the state.
The third nominee is the immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Professor Zacchaeus Adangor. Africa Update gathered that the three nominees appeared before the State Assembly on Friday where they were screened and confirmed.
