Professor Okey Onuchuku, a senior lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Port Harcourt, and former Director of the Port Harcourt Business School in Rivers State, has emerged as the Academic of the year over last weekend at the Trendsetters Awards in Rivers State.
Prof Onuchuku was recognized alongside notable individuals and organizations by the organiser of the Trendsetters Awards.
Similarly, Hon Sunny Wokekoro, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Special Adviser to the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Bar. Nyesom Wike, won the most consistent politician award.
Hon. Wokekoro, who has been actively involved in politics, has served the State in several capacities including being a Commissioner.
While the most Innovative Politician Award was presented to Hon. Alphine Whyte. Whyte has served as former Deputy Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
His ability to reinvent himself despite being in politics for over two decades, has earned him the award as the most Innovative Politician.
