The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the display of Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) for claims and objections across the 23 Local Government Areas in Rivers State.
Africa Update was reliably informed that the display is aimed at giving an opportunity to registrants to crosscheck and confirm that their data is correct to avoid any errors during the printing of their permanent voters card (PVC).
The exercise will last for 5 days between 9 AM through 3 PM at designated registration centres. According to the commission, the process is expected to run till 30th of September 2021, while In-person registration will continue on Monday, October 4 and run till December 20.
Africa Update gathered that the voters register has been displayed in Emouha, Obio/Akpor, Ikwerre, Port Harcourt, ONELGA, Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Khana, Akuku-Toru, Omuma and Eleme Local Government Areas.

INEC had in a statement on Monday said the display will enable citizens assist the commission by identifying ineligible registrants on the register, ahead of the cleaning up of the register, before the inclusion of fresh registrants to the current register and subseqent printing of their permanent voter’s cards (PVCs) for future elections.
