A Port Harcourt based media outfit, Rivers Today newspaper was invaded by law enforcement agents and the Publisher , Mr. Samuel Walson arrested, in the early hours of Saturday, February 25, over recent publications of an alleged affair between the founder and General overseer of Salvation Ministries, Â Pastor David Ibiyeomie and a nollywood actress, Â Iyabo Ojo.
Walson had landed in police custody following the publication of the libelous story on February 20. Recall that the  story about the alleged affair had hit the social media few weeks ago.
The publsieher was however, granted bail the next day, Sunday, February 26. Our source said no information was given about the condition behind the baIl, but Africa Update gathered that the General Overseer is very displeased with the rumour about the porpurted affair.
Reacting to the arrest, the chairman Rivers State Independent Publishers’ Association, Â RIVPA, tasked publishers and Journalists to cross check their facts before publishing stories.
