Fubara assures Rivers People, Business Community of more development

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has assured Rivers people, Civil Society Organizations and the organized private sector that his vision is to provide the state with more development when elected.

The governorship candidate, while speaking at a town hall meeting that had in attendance corporate bodies, professionals, nonprofit organizations and political pressure groups in the state, emphasized that peace and security are essential to development, stressing that he has captured virtually every sector in his blueprint, which will serve as a roadmap to his government when elected.

Sir Fubara noted at the interactive session put together by Intergovernmental Relations in conjunction with NGOs, political pressure groups and the Directorate of the PDP Campaign Council that he has developed a 25-year plan for socioeconomic and infrastructural development that will upgrade the rural areas to thriving urban centres.

He assured that the transformation agenda of the new Rivers vision with roads linking the various parts of the state will be enhanced to ensure the economic viability of all segments that will lead to the prosperity of Rivers people.

The candidate, while answering questions from the participants, noted that he will tackle the issue of fake drugs and work towards a one-stop pharmaceutical market to checkmate fake drugs. He further acknowledged the need to establish a faculty of Pharmacy at the Rivers State University to bridge the manpower gap within the health sector.

Sir Fubara promised to retool the unified tax system of the state to give the business community the leverage to operate unhindered, adding that the Small and Medium Enterprises in the state will be given appropriate incentives for optimal growth.

He further told the gathering that Gov. Wike’s administration has done tremendously well and fought all the security battles to keep the state safe like the biblical David, while he will carry on to improve on what is left as Solomon the son of David.

The governorship candidate used the event to present his blueprint to Rivers people.
