Nigeria-A nation in need of psychoanalysis- Salu Ayoola

People who are not in touch with their emotions tend to think their emotions are unimportant.We make policies without thinking about peoples’ emotions nor the emotion of policy makers.
Is it normal to steal what you don’t need? Why will our leaders steal money that they cannot finish spending when the masses are wallowing in hunger and deprivation? Why will the victims (masses) roll out the drums and wear aso ebi to celebrate the wicked leaders? When you formulate a policy have you pondered how Nigerians will react? What are the various interests that may affect the policy? Are all things ceteris paribus? Why did it work in USA, UK, UAE, China etc and not in Nigeria?
Nigerians are not creatures of logic but of personal interest.We need more psychologists(not psychiatrists) than economists to solve the problems of Nigeria across all facets
Yes we need shrinks to neutralize the negative propaganda that we grew up with.Why is patrotism no longer in our dictionary?
You may want to disagree with me that we don’t need psychologists but ask yourself- why are men going through divorce after divorce,while their wives had affairs( check daily magistrate court proceedings. it has increased recently), men are committing suicides or attempting to commit suicide, our kids get into trouble with drugs and cultism,it is now fashionable for our young folks to have baby mamas?
Emotions and intellect are entirely unrelated.They are separate compartments of the brain and they don’t communicate with each other, that is why we excel abroad and bad at home-abroad our emotions are controlled while at home it runs haywire(if you have been abroad you will understand this)
Intellectual understanding to our problems as a nation is useless.If you read a book on how to drive a car,do you know how to drive a car? No you don’t .You can read all you want but you still have to go out and learn how to drive.The part of your brain that learns to drive is different from the part of your brain that reads about it.
We have to deal with emotional side of our situation in the country as well as our intellectual side.We are cold and emotionless intellects
i am not APC or PDP but i desire the best for Nigeria
