Scars of Time

They’re written all over my face

And caress my skin like a lace
Set on the fabric of a life of ace,

On a body that has found its place

Some of them glow on my hair

Thousands of strands now fair

Each one as visible as a true heir:

The story of one with not a few mire

These marks are golden

And they quite often embolden

The one who embraces their moulding,

Keeps each one as a cherished holding

Scars of time are inevitable

If you like eat all the vegetables

Time’s progression remains stable;

One day, we’ll all sit on this old table.
