A Rivers State High Court has restrained the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, from inviting or threatening to arrest the Vice-Chancellor of PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Professor Micheal F. Diejomoah. Delivering Judgement on the fundamental human right case filled against the EFCC by Prof Diejomoah, Justice George Omereji ruled that the EFCC should pay N700,000 to Diejomoah, for infringing upon his rights.

Noting that the inability of the EFCC to respond to the letter sent by the applicant’s lawyer requesting for details of Prof Diejomoah invitation by the commission, and several calls threatening to arrest the applicant, shows an attempt to intimidate and infringe upon his human right. Prof. Diejomoah, had on May 6, 2020 filled a Fundamental Human Right suit to restrain EFCC from infringing on his right.
