Vice Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Hon. Anengi Barasua, says Nyesom Wike’s support for women is unprecedented, since his emergence as Governor of Rivers State.
Barasua, made the disclosure while receiving the award for the Best Vice Chairman, in the State at the recently organised Trendsetters Awards at the Hago Heights Event Centre, in Port Harcourt. An award she is receiving in two consecutive years.
She said women have dared to aspire for greatness in politics, following Governor Wike’s stance on gender equality and empowerment.
Barasua expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Chief Rudaford LongJohn for supporting her political aspirations and ensuring her return to the Council for a second term as vice Chairman.
