PABOD Finance and Investment Company Limited has ushered in a new phase of leadership with the assumption of office of ESV. Sofiri Gladstone Dappa, MNIVS, MInsTA, MSc, as Acting General Manager.

Dappa took over from the outgoing Acting General Manager, Dr Minafuro Iyisonye, during an official handover ceremony held on Friday, 25 September 2026, at the company’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.

The ceremony was attended by members of management, staff and other stakeholders. His assumption of office comes as the Rivers State Government-owned investment company seeks to reposition its operations, optimise its assets and strengthen its contribution to the state’s economic development.

Dappa, who is also a Director of PF Sandcrete Industries Limited, a subsidiary of PABOD Finance and Investment Company, brings to the position professional experience spanning estate surveying, valuation, property development, transportation and environmental studies.

His multidisciplinary background is expected to provide a broad perspective as the company explores opportunities to improve asset utilisation, develop new investments and enhance the commercial performance of its subsidiaries.

Dappa holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Estate Management from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, now Rivers State University.

He later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Geography and Environmental Studies and a Master’s degree in Transport Geography. He is currently concluding his doctoral studies in Transport Geography at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt.

He is a Member of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), a Registered Estate Surveyor and Valuer, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA).

With expertise cutting across real estate, investment, infrastructure and transportation, Dappa is expected to bring his professional training to bear on PABOD’s efforts to strengthen its commercial operations.

His appointment also comes at a time when state-owned enterprises are under increasing pressure to improve efficiency, maximise existing assets and deliver stronger value from public investments.

For PABOD, the immediate task will be to translate its assets and investment portfolio into sustainable commercial opportunities capable of generating greater value for Rivers State.

Beyond his professional career, Dappa is a golfer and a member of Port Harcourt Club 1928. He is also a member of Rotary International. He is married to an Urban and Regional Planner and they have children.

With the formal handover now completed, Dappa begins his tenure at PABOD with the responsibility of steering the company through its next phase of growth, while working with management and staff to strengthen its operations and position the organisation as a more productive investment vehicle for Rivers State.
