Elemchukwu Ogbowu denies being factional Rivers PDP Chairman

A founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Special Adviser to Governor Nyesom Wike, Hon. Elemchukwu Ogbowu has dispelled rumours making the rounds that he may have been picked to replace the state PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah.

The media had gone agog with speculations that the Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff led faction of the party had endorsed him as Rivers State PDP Chairman, but in a swift reaction, the PDP stalwart had described the alleged online publication by a blogger on Sahara social media, as baseless, libelous and mischievous .

He said the publication was the handiwork of a faceless blogger whose aim is to smear his reputation and cause disaffection between members of the party in the state.

He reiterated that it is pertinent for him to refute the publication and pledge is unwavering support for the Makafi led faction and Chief Wike .

Meanwhile, Sen. Ali Modu Sherrif has disclosed that he would work with the peace committee chaired by the Bayelsa State Governor Dickson to reconcile the differences rocking the party , stating that his concern and focus is to ensure that impunity is eliminated from the party.
