More Commissioners resign in Rivers State (See letters)

Few hours after the resignation letter of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State, Prof Zacchaeus Adango, went viral, Four more Commissioners have also made public their letters of resignation.

Emeka Woke, Commissioner for Special Duties, George Kelly Dax Alabo, Commissioner for Works, Isaac Kamalu, Commissioner for Finance and Inime Aguma, Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, have expressed their desire to quit the State Executive Council, with various reasons ranging from ethical and personal commitment.

Their resignation has been greeted with mixed reactions, as some persons are of the view that it is the right decision taken, considering that the trio of Kamalu, Aguma and Alabo served as Commissioners, in the Wike led administration, while Woke was the Chief of Staff at the time.

Other political observers are of the view that the current tension in the State might be further aggravated with the exit of those perceived to be core loyalist of the Former Rivers Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Nyesom Wike.
