Rivers rerun: Police recovers N111 million bribe money

The investigative panel set up by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Idris to investigate the violence that occurred during the December 2016 rerun election in Rivers State has made startling revelations.

The panel while presenting a report to IGP Idris on Tuesday,  said over N111 million was allegedly recovered from 23 suspects , who were purportedly bribed by the Rivers State Governor,  Chief Nyesom Wike to rig the election in favor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The report further alleged that the Police recovered millions paid to INEC officials by Wike.
