The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Siminalayi Fubara, has been given a clean bill to proceed with his aspiration to contest in the 2023 general elections, sequel to a ruling by an appeal court sitting in Port Harcourt dismissing a suit filed by the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress against the judgement of the Federal High court in favour of the PDP and Fubara.
Recall that the APC had filled a suit at the federal High court, seeking Fubara’s disqualification by the independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for allegedly violating the electoral Act by not duly signing the list of candidates of the party and for submitting the same later than the stipulated time but the suit was struck out by the federal high court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Obile for lack of jurisdiction.
