Policeman kills security guard in Rivers State

Gospel Gbaraka, 28 year old native of Gwara Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State and a Security Staff with Bulk Strategic Reserve Limited, a company located at the Abonnema Wharf axis in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of the state, was gruesomely murdered by Inspector James, a trigger happy policeman, on Sunday November 22.

According to eyewitness account, Gbaraka was on duty at his security post that morning, when Inspector James, who is also a police security personnel attached to the company, allegedly discharged his AK 47 assault rifle, killing him (Gbaraka) on the spot. It was further gathered that there were no altercations, riot or crisis situation at the company involving groups of persons requiring the use of live bullets to disperse crowds, neither was there any existing problem between the deceased and Inspector James before the sad incident.

Africa Update gathered that Inspector James, who was serving at the Marine Base Police Station in the state capital, has been arrested and detained at the Mile One Police Station.
