Court remands 10 passengers on Carveton Helicopters in Rivers State

Ten passengers who flew into Rivers State, via Caverton Helicopters, have been remanded in a government facility.

The passengers, had arrived the Air Force Base in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, and were arrested alongside the pilots Samuel Buhari and Samuel Ugorji, for allegedly contravening the Executive Order of the Rivers State Government.

The prosecution team led by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Z. Adangor, and the officer in charge, legal/ prosecutions of the state police command, Gladys Imegu, had arraigned them via Charge No: PMC/533C/2020.

The Defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the four counts against them by the state, even as the Chief Magistrate, D. D. Ihia-Maduenyi, ordered that they should be remanded in any government facility to enable medical personnel from the state to carry out tests to ascertain their coronavirus status.
