Rivers Elections: Dr. Sokonte Davies Condemns Suspension, Asks REC to Announce Collated Results

Dr. Sokonte Davies has condemned the suspension of the electoral process in Rivers State by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), whilst asking the INEC not to tamper with the results as voted by the people of Rivers State. Reacting to the Commission’s decision to suspend all electoral processes in the state, Dr Davies had said that he suspects an Unholy alliance with the Rivers State PDP and the INEC. Speaking this morning, he said

“I am disappointed that our electoral umpire would go ahead to suspending a free and fair elective process when it is obvious that the incumbent governor is loosing. It is laughable that Wike, in all his acclaimed popularity and acceptance, having failed to foist himself on Rivers people will resort to this sheer gimmick.”

“Could it be the reason the Commission has turned a deaf ear despite the several complains about the ineptitude of the Rivers state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Obo Effanga, who may be upto his old trick again by suspending the elections? We shouldn’t be given reasons to doubt the credibility of INEC.

Dr. Davies who deprecated the decision of the commission also alleged possible connivance with the PDP whilst calling on INEC to announce the results.

“As a matter of fact I am beginning to believe that this suspension is orchestrated in connivance with Governor Nyesom Wike to allow him more time to carry out his evil machinations and halt the will of Rivers People” he said

“But let the Governor hear it today, that the Will of Rivers People can not and will never be subverted. Any attempt by the Governor and INEC to tamper with Rivers Result will be strongly resisted. We have decided to boot him out of power.”

“I therefore urge INEC not to collude with the PDP and announce the already collated result. The electoral process should resume in the State. Rivers citizens should keep faith, as no one under any guise has the power to subvert our will”
