Delegates and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the South South geopolitical zone in Nigeria, have been commended for successfully electing flag bearers for the upcoming Presidential and Governorship elections in 2019.
A statement issued by the APC National Vice Chairman, South South zone, Hilliard Ntufam Eta, at the zonal office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, he expressed pleasure with the peaceful conduct of the party’s primaries across the zone.
Stating that this has further reiterated the enthusiasm of electorates to support the achievements recorded by the Muhammadu Buhari led federal government which has transformed the economic fortunes of the Nation, rescuing it from the brink of recession.
The statement said the emergence of Buhari as the Presidential candidate of the party through its direct primaries, is an affirmation that Nigerians are tired of the clueless policies of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Stressing that the emergence of Governorship candidates, who have earned global recognition by virtue of diligence and professional excellence, across the zone, is an indication of the preparedness of electorates to completely eliminate PDP from the political history of the country.
Assuring electorates of APC’s resolve to build on the achievements recorded so far during the first tenure of the Buhari led federal government, the statement urged citizens to resist any attempts by the PDP to intimidate them into voting against their will in 2019.
