Rivers CJ kicks out affidavit touts from Judiciary complex

Touts selling affidavit with fake stamps of the commissioner for oaths have been removed from the Rivers State Judiciary complex.
The Chief Judge, Hon. Justice A.I. Iyayi-Lamikanra, said the move became necessary following the menace these touts cause.
She advised citizens to get certified affidavits from the premises of the High Court with payments to designated banks and frowned at the outrageous fees of N2,000 charged by touts, reiterating that the official fee for affidavit is N500.
‘Now affidavits can be verified from the High Court premises or any other court outside’, she stated.
The CJ further disclosed that affidavits now have proper numbers and individuals who are legalIsed to perform as commissioners of oaths have been appointed.
