GDI woman leader, others decamp to APC

Former Commissioner for Agriculture, Emma Chinda, has announced that Emouha Local Government Area, in Rivers State, is still in the hands of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He said this when some members of the Grassroot Development Initiative, GDI, from the area, defected to APC.

While receiving the new members, he voiced his rejection of the neighbourhood watch bill. He said the law is ‘ a supersonic jet, conveying an emperor and its destination is going to be very disastrous for everybody in the state. This law is capable of putting arms in the hands of between five hundred thousand and  one million of our youths. Is that what we owe them or we owe them education?’.

The leader of the group and GDI woman leader in Emuoha, Kelechi Nwele, said they decided to decamp because of the marginalisation of women in PDP and GDI.

The APC State Secretary, Emeka Bekee assured them of equal opportunities and stressed that APC has all it takes to win 2019 general elections.
