The senator-elect for Osun West senatorial district, Ademola Adeleke, shortly after receiving his certificate of return from INEC, on Tuesday declared that his victory in last weekend’s election was a big lesson to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop any form of impunity in its affairs.
Speaking with journalists , the senator-elect accused the APC leadership of imposing an unpopular candidate on its members.
Adeleke said: “This is a big lesson to APC. Henceforth, they should not discard a winner. I have followed the electoral process; I won unopposed before the APC started their fraud. Thank God they gave me the opportunity to return to my home. PDP is my home.
“The APC is not democratic. They are just making noise. Thank God, I am back home.”
Reiterating that the people of Osun West senatorial district remained resolute as they voted during the election and stood by their votes which ensured victory for him and the party.
He also paid glowing tribute to his elder brother and former governor of the state, late Senator Isiaka Adeleke whose work as a former governor and senator laid the foundation for the victory.
Earlier, the National Commissioner in charge of Publicity and Voter Education, Mr. Adedeji Solomon Soyebi, had promised that INEC would continue to be fair and transparent in the conduct of all elections in the country.
