Assailants pour acid on native doctor’s friend

The homicide section of the Edo Police, has commenced investigation into the acid attack on Marbel Mark, 31, at a salon by unknown persons, when she went to fix her hair. The assailants had escaped, while Marbel was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) for treatment before she was flown back to Spain for surgery.
The Spokesman for the Edo state Police Command, Abiodun Osifo, revealed that detectives were investigating the matter, which he described as wicked.
He said the suspects will be arrested in due course, and further disclosed that the police has interrogated the primary suspect and wife of a native doctor.
Our source narrated that Marbel Mark, a native of Edo State,resident in Spain had visited Nigeria in October 2015, and had gone to see a native doctor at Sakpoba Road, Benin City shortly after her arrival. The wife of the native doctor had become jealous of the close relationship between the two, and confronted Marbel about it.
The native doctor’s wife, still enraged about the alleged affair between Marbel and her husband, called Marbel’s husband, a native of Delta State, who also resides in Spain to make her protest known.
It was further revealed that she was afraid that her husband might dump her for Marbel, so she did everything possible to stop the friendship.
The divorced mother of a seven year old daughter and victim, is demanding for justice.
