Ground breaking ceremony for  85km Kula-Degema-Port Harcourt expressway performed, as Belema Oil, NNPC resume OML 25

Indigenes of the Kula Community were in a state of celebration over the news that their demands have been met in the case of the OML 25 flow station.

It will be recalled that the OML 25 flow station which was handled by Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC,  was shutdown for two years due to the protest of indigenes of Kula community, that led to complete breakdown of law and order.

While confirming this the President and founder of Belema Oil, Mr. Jack Rich Tein Jr., told Newsmen and the aggrieved indigenes, on Saturday September 28, 2019, that their demands will be addressed so there would not be any need for further protest, because the process for the provision of all their demands have been met.

In view of that the OML 25 will be operated as a joint venture project between the NNPC and Belema oil Producing Limited, he noted.

During a reception at the host community the GMD of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mr. Mele Kolo Kyari  assured the people of Kula that there won’t be need for anymore protest and reassured them that they had the support of the Federal Government.
He also emphasized on the need for peace within the community so as to foster future development.

The occasion also served as ground breaking ceremony for the 85km Kula-Degema-Port Harcourt expressway alongside several projects aimed at improving economic activities in kula community.

As appreciation for the strings of development the new venture would bring to the community,  His Royal highness King (Sir) Kroma Amabib Eleki  (JP) conferred chieftaincy titles on the Minister of state Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva and GMD of NNPC, Mr. Mele Kolo Kyari; Amabelemabo of Kula Kingdom and Deinpribo of Kula Kingdom respectively as a token of his gratitude.
