Africa Update has received news of a protest comprising the staff of the Niger Delta University, including cleaners and gardeners and citizens of the host community.
The protesters, most of whom stripped topless, blocked all major roads leading to the Niger Delta University, (NDU), Amassoma, Bayelsa State, while offices were sealed up.
Reports revealed that the protest is over an alleged marginalisation of the people of Amassoma in the ongoing civil service reforms being carried out in the institution by the Dickson led state government.
