The Senate President Bukola Saraki, has been invited by the Nigeria Police Force, to answer to alleged links to the deadly robbery gang responsible for the bank robbery in Offa.
Five principal suspects among 15 others paraded in Abuja in connection to the Offa robbery which occurred in April, reportedly indicted the senate president in their statements.
The leader of the gang identified as Ayodele, said they are political thugs of Saraki and have been working for him, while he was governor of Kwara state. Though he stated that they were not working on the instruction of Saraki, they however worked with his encouragement.
At least 34 people, including nine police officers and two pregnant women, were killed in shootings during the robbery.
