PANDEF mourns Deputy National Chairman

The sudden demise of Chief Francis Doukpola, has sent shock waves through Nigeria and the Niger Delta region in particular. Reacting to the death of the elder stateman, who was the Deputy National Chairman of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga (rtd), OFR, National Chairman PANDEF and Former Military Governor of Akwa Ibom State, in a statement made available to Africa Update, described his demise as shocking and painful. The statement reads: The National Leadership and entire membership of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, mourn the shocking and painful demise of our dear Deputy National Chairman, Chief Francis Amaebikedou Doukpola, MON, on 16th June, 2020. He was aged 76. (1944-2020). This is indeed a great loss to PANDEF, Bayelsa State, and the Niger Delta region. Late Chief Francis Doukpola was a steadfast, committed, and dogged crusader of the Niger Delta Cause, and the national quest for the Restructuring of Nigeria. A consummate gentleman, selfless, humane, yet astute. He was a Statesman, trusted leader, friend, and beloved compatriot. No words to describe the sadness we feel over his demise. We will greatly miss his invaluable contributions, as PANDEF Deputy National Chairman, to our efforts at fostering unity, peace, and development in the Niger Delta Region. May the Almighty God console his families, friends, Agbere Community of Bayelsa State, Bayelsa State in general, the Region, and us all, for the irreparable loss. And may his noble soul rest in the Bosom of the Almighty God. Amen! Adieu beloved Compatriot!
