Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, will on Sunday December 1st, perform the official opening ceremony for the 43rd edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) being hosted by the state, Africa Update has gathered .
A press release signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, noted that the opening ceremony will hold at the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt the State Capital by 12 noon.
Recall that the games had commenced last week at various sports facility across the State, with losers licking their wounds while Winners sang songs of victory.
The press release reads: The Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, will this afternoon officially declare open the 43rd edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) being hosted by the state.
The opening ceremony, scheduled for 12 noon at the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt, will have in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life, including federal government officials.
Over 8,000 athletes from 80 Ministries/Departments/Agencies of federal government, in addition to Team Rivers, are participating in the games that have witnessed intense competition.
The governor is expected to witness the March Past of the participating teams while also taking salutes from them.
Various sporting events are taking place at the Sharks Stadium, Civic Centre, Port Harcourt Club 1928, and University of Port Harcourt.
