Wike: President Tinubu’s achievements have “killed” the opposition’s 2027 ambitions

Abuja, FCT – Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), asserted on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu’s impactful work has effectively dismantled the emerging opposition coalition. Speaking at the commissioning of the Arterial Road N16 (Shehu Shagari Way) and other critical road infrastructure in Abuja’s Katampe district, Wike stated that the coalition is “bound to fail” as a direct consequence of the President’s positive trajectory.

The coalition, reportedly spearheaded by figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, reportedly aims to unseat President Tinubu in 2027.

However, Minister Wike dismissed the viability of such an alliance achieving its objective. He emphasized the consistent visibility of the President’s development efforts across national media, making it impossible for critics to ignore.

“Your good work has killed the coalition,” Wike remarked. “I was thinking that truly there will be a coalition, but when they see what is happening every day… I told my people, ‘make sure that every national television must hook in.’ So, if they turn to DBN, TVC, they are watching Mr. President. If they go to Channels, NTA, even the ones that don’t watch Arise, it’s Mr. President. So they have no choice, they must watch it for 17 days, there is nothing they can do.”

Wike concluded with a confident jab at the opposition: “Abuja people say I should tell you that they are happy, please help us so that these people who are not happy their BP will keep going up. The coalition is bound to fail and it has failed.”
