The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, is very corrupt, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has alleged.
Governor Wike made the allegation today, while responding to a question during a live interactive media session at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
He said Ayu, reportedly met with a certain presidential candidate and told him of the need to fund his (Ayu’s) activities because according to him, certain Governors might not make any donation towards the smooth operation of the party.
Wike noted that subsequently, N1billion was raised by this individual who was in Lagos State at the time and allegedly paid into a private account controlled by Ayu.
“Ayu is corrupt. Ayu is very, very corrupt! He took 1billion in Lagos from a Presidential candidate…Let him deny it, I will call names” Wike stressed.
