All is now set for a grand event in appreciation of all the laudable projects executed by the Nyesom Wike led Government, in communities across Kalabari Kingdom. Dropping the hint during an exclusive interview with Africa Update, the National President of Kalabari Bridge Builders and Development Initiative, Hon Soberekon Clarke, said the event billed to hold on Sunday, July 18, will focus on the extra ordinary passion and consideration, Governor Wike has exhibited towards the Kalabari ethnic group.
Clarke stated that the vast swathes of sand-filled land for some of the coastal communities, including Abalama, Bakana, and Kula, is unprecedented, while the flag off of the Trans Kalabari road and the sand filling of 55 hectares of reclaimed land for Abonnema/Obonoma is historic and will boost socio- economic activities in Kalabari kingdom.
‘We see him as the most honest transparent Governor. He has utilised public funds in a very prudent manner and kept all his campaign promises across 23 local government areas of the State. Wike has violated the political arrangement in the state where a zone will have Secretary to State Government and Deputy Governor. Because of his (Wike’s) love for Kalabari people, he didn’t consider the political implication of giving these key positions to the Kalabari people.
‘Governor Wike is more kalabari than most Kalabari people. People should check his (Wike’s) DNA, because he is more Kalabari than Ikwerre. Wike is a detribilised leader , one who is repugnant to the corrupting influence of ethnocentrism. He is a towering political figure in Nigeria above all, he is a champion of infrastructural development,’ he noted.
He further stated that the event will hold by 2 p:m on Sunday, July 18 at the Information Centre by Niger/Bende Street, in Old Port Harcourt Township. He ureged all sons and daughter of kalabari including lovers of Democracy to attend the event.
