The mobilizers begin ‘power must rotate’ campaign in Rivers State

Ahead of the 2019 general elections in Rivers State, an advocacy group, The Mobilizers, has reiterated the need for politicians to adhere to the principles of the founding fathers of the state, which emphasises the need for power to rotate among the various ethnic groups.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to Engr. Beks Dagogo Jack, Chairman , contact and mobilization committee, Rivers State APC, on Wednesday, President of the group, Gloria Boma Harry, said, it was morally wrong for a particular ethnic group to hold on to power for eleven years, in a state that has diverse ethnic groups.

Harry stated that the call for power shift, is important to foster fairness and unity in the state, reiterating that the group decided to publicly declare support for the All Progressives Congress, because of the party’s stance on the need for power rotation among ethnic groups.
