“Because of what you have done, so many people now want the red pen. My prayer is that those who come after you, will handle the red pen properly to bring development… “, Dr. Abiye Sekibo declared during the foundation laying ceremony of Rivers State University Teaching Hospital Renal Centre, at Old GRA, in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
Former Minister of Transportation, Dr. Sekibo, who performed the foundation laying for the construction of the renal centre, on June 11, said the construction of the renal centre has placed the state on the world map, as a health tourism destination.
He noted that the laudable projects executed by the Nyesom Wike led administration, have taken care of all parts of the human body, including the Kidney which he described as the waterworks of the human body. Sekibo recalled that as Council Chairman, his (Governor Wike’s), reign paved way for the transformation of Obio/Akpo Local Government Area.
He observed that his performance as Council Chairman laid a solid foundation for his exceptional performance as Governor of Rivers State. “Of all those who were Governors, you have surpassed all, including Spiff. Spiff operated on a tabula rasa. He operated on nothing, so whatever he did was seen as exceptional. But you came and did what others could not”.
The former Minister stressed that contrary to what is being paddled, the infrastructural revolution of the Wike’s administration has led to the construction of edifices and projects that satisfy the needs of Rivers people, irrespective of tribe or ethnicity.
