Port Harcourt, Nigeria — In a landmark ceremony to usher in democratic governance, the Rivers State Government has announced a high-profile, inter-denominational church thanksgiving service for Sunday, September 14, 2025.
The event, confirmed in a government announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika, will be held at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt and is set to bring together the state’s most powerful figures. The Special Guest of Honor will be the Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.
