Siminalayi Fubara: still on the Ballot – Campaign Council

Reports that the official flagbearer of the PDP in Saturday’s Governorship Election, Sir Siminalayi Fubara will be halted from participating in Saturday’s election on Friday 10th March, 2023 by the Supreme Court is fake.

Also fake is the claim that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has dropped the name of Sir Siminalayi Fubara candidate of the PDP from list of party flagbearers who will be taking part in the said election.

The PDP said in statement issued last night in Port Harcourt by Chief Ogbonna Nwuke, Director of Publicity and Communications that there is no iota of truth in the so-called breaking news circulating in the social media.

“Our attention has been drawn to a fictitious publication in the social media claiming that the Supreme Court has renounced the right of the official flagbearer of the Rivers PDP, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to participate in Saturday’s Governorship Election.

“We have equally heard that peddlers of false information on the social media are also claiming that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has delisted the name of Sir Fubara who is the standard bearer of the PDP in the forthcoming election.

“The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, wishes to state for the avoidance of doubt that the so-called breaking news released by a faceless group of persons is completely fake.

“We want to place on record that Sir Siminalayi Fubara is on the ballot and so, will contest the March 11 election.

“For the record, it is important to stress that no court of competent jurisdiction has ordered the PDP to stand down its widely accepted candidate whose developmental blueprint is adjudged the best throughout the State.

“The said breaking news is the handwork of enemies of the State who are determined to sow the seeds of discord and cause confusion among voters who are poised to renew the mandate of the PDP in Rivers State.

Accordingly, We urge Rivers people and all who believe in the wellbeing of our dear and progressive State to disregard this unfounded rumour. There is no iota of truth in these malicious claims.

“Siminalayi Fubara of the PDP is the choice of a majority of Rivers people who have invested their faith in power rotation. No amount of falsehood will deter the Rivers people from voting massively for Siminalayi Fubara and all the candidates of the PDP on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

“We understand the desperation of those who are behind the spread of deliberate falsehood. They have nothing to offer. By the grace of God Almighty they will fail.
