Senator Omo-Agege’s victory: Reward for selfless service, defence of democracy

David Okumgba, South South Zonal Secretary, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, says the election of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, as Deputy Senate President of the 9^th Senate is an asset which will foster development in the Country and the south-south region in particular.

A statement made available to Africa Update, reads: “Nigerians watched keenly as the decision to elect The Senate President and Deputy Senate President, of the 9th Senate gathered momentum, yesterday, June 11.
“For the South South geopolitical region, the election was critical, as our Son, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, was also in the race, and his subsequent election as Deputy Senate President, has placed the south south region in the books of history.
“I am confident that Senator Omo Agege, who has displayed unflinching loyalty to the leadership of our dear Party, and readiness to work for the overall betterment of Nigeria, will continue to defend democracy.
“His stance on the importance of party supremacy and fight against impunity in the 8th Senate, will be a priceless asset to the 9th Senate and its leadership.
