On whether the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, acted contrary to the provisions of the law or the decision to prosecute two Caverton Helicopters pilots, Samuel Ugorji and Samuel Buhari, is constitutional, Senator Barry Mpigi, has lauded Wike’s actions.

Faulting the comments made by the Minister for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, that Wike had no right to prosecute the pilots who according to him, were on essential assignment, Mpigi, said it is unfortunate that the Federal Government would rather risk the lives of Rivers People for revenue generation, in this era when COVID-19 is ravaging the globe.

In a statement made available to Africa Update, Mpigi, representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, called on Wike to continue in his bid to prevent any further occurrence of COVID-19 incident in the state.
